From a horizontal view (in the barefoot mode-picture on left) we can
see the pressure peaks of those areas which indicates poor alignment characteristics
of the foot due to overpronation.
The picture on the right with the SDO underfoot we see how the correction
in alignment reduces the pressure.
The thing to notice is the fullness of the arch with and without the
SDO. It is clearly evident that the picture on the right with the SDO is
fuller, absorbing the harmful overpronation spreading the forces more evenly
and thus reducing pressure under the peak pressure areas. Besides being
comfortable and easy to wear in most shoes, this is what an orthotic should
do in order to be effective.
With the tilt view, you can see exactly where on the foot the areas
of peak pressure are occurring on the barefoot and what a difference the
SDO has on those pressures after alignment correction.
